The Allan Brown Big Band

Alan Brown Big Band Logo Swing was the thing, and 'Jump Jivin' 'Cats' and 'Kittens' were lindy hopping.

In every ballroom and dancehall in the land the big bands such as Benny Goodman 'The King of Swing', 'The Dorseys', Glenn Miller, and a host of others, were riding high. Loyal and enthusiatic fans followed all the 'doings' of their favorite band. This twenty piece big band line-up selects Queensland's finest musicians to produce a live music machine that re-creates the sounds of the Swing, Soul, Jazz, Funk, Pop and Latin genres. Big band leader Allan Brown has maintained the flagship status of this musical outfit which spans a working history of over thirty years.

Performance highlights for the group include performances with Harry Connick Jnr., Shirley Bassey, Tom Jones and Frank Sinatra. Event highlights include the closing of World Expo '88, the opening of the Hyatt Regency Sanctuary Cove, and the State of Origin. With the largest music library in the country, the Allan Brown Big Band's repertoire is versatile enough to cater for a 5 hour function right through to a themed, fully produced entertainment event to include dancers and strings. The group also boasts its own in-house music arrangers who are adaptable to specialised event requests.

Audience appeal from both young and old is a major draw card for the band, as its versatility caters for even the most discerning music enthusiasts. With a focus on 'making music fun' the Allan Brown Big Band brings to life any function by inviting guests to let their hair down and dance the night away to well-known standards through to today's top 40 hits.
